Ferlic Meets with Navajo Nation Plaintiffs in Gold King Mine Case

On January 16 and 17 lead attorney Kate Ferlic is scheduled to meet with the Navajo Nation Plaintiffs in the Gold King Mind spill case in four chapter houses in San Juan County. The lawsuit filed in 2018 by approximately 300 Navajo Nation tribal members is against the United States Environmental Protection Agency and EPA contractors.

Ferlic and other representatives give updates about the case and supportive staff will help plaintiffs fill out necessary questionnaires. In addition, Navajo translators will be at the meetings. Attendance of the plaintiffs are required or they “risk having their claims dismissed.”

“I do think it’s a critical time in the litigation to solidify the claims,” Ferlic stated to the Farmington Daily Times.
