The Albuquerque Journal obtained internal emails between APS CFO Don Moya, Superintendent Luis Valentino and Deputy Superintendent Jason Martinez that exposes the APS scandal regarding requests for proposals and shady backgrounds of proposed vendors. In the emails, Luis Valentino writes to Jason Martinez he is “going after him (Moya) with both barrels.” Valentino also implies a possible dismissal of Moya on the evening of August 6, one day before Moya was placed on administrative leave.

Don Moya’s attorney Kate Ferlic told the Albuquerque Journal, “Of course, we have the reasons we think they put him on administrative leave – and that was, of course, his whistleblower activity – but there has been no news. It is unfortunate that they are holding off on a decision, but I think their silence really indicates that they are panicking.”
