Los Alamos teacher switching schools due to discrimination

Zeynep Unal, a teacher at a Los Alamos school with Turkish and Muslim background, is switching schools due to discrimination.  According to Unal’s attorney, Kate Ferlic, she was “verbally and psychologically abused at work.”

“They made her workplace so difficult for her because of her Turkish origin,” Ferlic said.  Unal began having panic attacks from the stress of the discrimination and her doctor recommended she not return to work.

The lawsuit states Unal’s boss and Los Alamos Elementary Principal Katheryn Vandenkieboom of plotting against Unal by increasing her class size to 50 kids and moving her classroom to a portable.
